What each number tells you, and what it can't
An Etsy shop page already shows some of this, spread across the header, the reviews tab and dozens of listings. The analyzer puts it on one screen and adds the two things the page never totals for you: which listings collect the most favorites, and which tags the shop repeats.

Why there is no revenue figure
Etsy publishes a shop's total sales, but not what each listing sold or what the shop earned. Tools that show a revenue number per listing are estimating it from favorites, reviews and price, and they rarely say how far off that estimate can be. We would rather show you the sales count Etsy reports and the price range, and let you do the rough math knowing it is rough.
Good ways to use it
- Check your own shop the way a stranger sees it. If the tag list shows five near-identical phrases at the top, you are spending tags you could aim at different searches. The Etsy tag generator helps you widen them.
- Size up a shop you keep running into in your category: how long it has been open, how busy it was this year, and where its prices sit compared to yours.
- Learn the vocabulary of a niche. The tags an established shop repeats are the words buyers in that niche use. Use them to understand the market, then write tags that describe your own design, not theirs.
One shop is a single data point, though. A strong shop proves a niche can sell; it doesn't tell you whether the niche still has room for you, or which designs in it are picking up right now. Is this Etsy shop analyzer free?
Yes. Five shops a day, no account and no card. Each analysis is a real read of the shop through Etsy's official API, so the numbers are the ones Etsy publishes, at most a few hours old.
Where does the data come from?
From Etsy's Open API, the official channel Etsy gives approved apps. Nothing is scraped. The analyzer reads only public shop information: the sales count, reviews, admirers, active listings with their prices, tags and favorites.
Can it show how much an Etsy shop makes?
No, and be careful with tools that claim to. Etsy publishes a shop's total number of sales but not its revenue and not the sales of each listing. Revenue figures elsewhere are estimates built from favorites and prices. Here you get the sales count and the price range Etsy reports, and any math you do with them is a rough guess.
Why are listings ranked by favorites and not by sales?
Because favorites are the only per-listing demand number Etsy makes public. A favorite means someone saved the item, which is interest rather than a purchase. Compare favorites with the listing date: an item that collected many in a few months is pulling harder than an old one with the same count.
What should I do with a shop's tags?
Read them as the searches the shop is built around. A tag that appears on most listings is the core of the shop. Use them to learn the words buyers in that niche type, then write tags that describe your own design. Copying another shop's tags word for word rarely helps, because your listing then competes for exactly the same searches with fewer reviews.
Can I analyze my own Etsy shop?
Yes, and it is a quick audit. You see your tag spread, your price range and which of your listings people save most, the same way anyone else sees them.
Why does it say it ranked only some listings?
For a shop with more than 300 active listings, the analyzer reads the 300 listed or renewed most recently and ranks those. That keeps each analysis fast and within Etsy's limits. The total sales, reviews and listing count still cover the whole shop.
