What you get
On Etsy a shirt is sold by its first photo. It is the thumbnail in search, it decides whether anyone opens the listing, and on most print-on-demand shops it is the same provider template a hundred other shops use. Trendlytic keeps its own library of blank shirt and hoodie photos for this. Upload your artwork once and it appears on all of them; choose a product shot for the thumbnail, then people who look like your buyers for the photos after it, and download every one in the size Etsy asks for.
Square, so the thumbnail is never cropped
Etsy asks for the first photo to be square or landscape, because its shape sets how every photo in the listing is shown. Every mockup here is square, so the design stays whole in search results and in the listing alike.
2000 pixels each way
Etsy recommends at least 2000 px on the width and the height. That is the default download, with 1440 and 1000 px for social posts and lighter files.
Enough shots for 20 slots
An Etsy listing holds 20 photos. Fill them with the design on women, men, teens and kids, on a flat lay, on a hanger, on black and on white, without repeating one picture.
Hoodies for the colder months
260+ hoodie photos sit beside the t-shirts, on adults, teens and kids and on their own, so a design can go into a hoodie listing the same afternoon.
One look across the shop
Pin the shots you like and they stay at the top for the next design. Using the same set on every listing gives the shop page a consistent look instead of a patchwork of templates.
JPG by default, for a reason
Etsy does not support transparent PNGs; transparent areas turn black once uploaded. The mockups are full photos and download as JPG unless you choose PNG, so nothing comes out black.

See it working

A first photo that reads at thumbnail size
Filter to Product and only the shirts with nobody in them stay: flat lays on concrete or wood, tees on a hanger, a white shirt in window light. In a grid of Etsy results these read cleanly at a glance, which is why so many top listings open with one. Keep the people for photos two to five, where the buyer imagines wearing it.

The same design on a hoodie listing
Switch the library to hoodies and the artwork you uploaded is already on them: black and white hoodies, oversized cuts, kids' sizes and product shots. A t-shirt design that sells in September can have its hoodie listing up before the first cold week.

Mock up a design that Etsy buyers want
Good photos cannot rescue a niche nobody is shopping. Best Niches Today lists the niches behind the Etsy listings that are Rising now, and one search shows how crowded any of them is, so the hour spent on photos goes to a design with buyers waiting.
How it works
- 1
Upload the artwork
A PNG with a transparent background, as you would send to your print provider. It is on every t-shirt and hoodie photo a moment later.
- 2
Build the listing's photo set
One product shot for the thumbnail, then the people who buy this design, then the other colour. Pin them so the next design gets the same set.
- 3
Download and upload to Etsy
Save them as 2000 px JPGs, or the whole set as a ZIP, and drag them into the listing in order: the first one is the thumbnail.
Pricing
Simple pricing

Frequently asked questions
What size should Etsy mockups be?
Etsy recommends listing photos at least 2000 pixels wide and 2000 pixels tall, and asks for the first photo to be square or landscape because it sets the shape of every photo in the listing. The first photo also has a floor of 635 by 635 pixels, and Etsy warns that a smaller one pushes the listing down in search. The mockups here download square at 2000 by 2000.
How many photos can an Etsy listing have?
Twenty photos and two videos, according to Etsy's guide to creating a listing. Many articles still say ten, which was the old limit. With a library of shots you can fill the slots with different scenes instead of crops of one picture.
Can I use mockups on Etsy?
Yes, as long as the photo shows the item the buyer will receive: use the mockup of the blank and the colour your provider actually prints. If a print provider makes your shirts, Etsy asks you to name it as a production partner on the listing.
Why does my PNG look black on Etsy?
Etsy does not support transparent PNG files, and transparent areas show up black after the upload. A mockup is a full photo with no transparency, and it downloads as a JPG by default, so this does not happen with these files.
Is there a free version?
Yes. The free mockup generator at trendlytic.io/tools/mockup-generator has eight mockups you can download without an account or a watermark, so you can try your design before a trial. The full library of 800+ photos is in the app.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $19.99/month after a 3-day trial. Downloading a given photo the first time takes one credit from the same pool the research tools use; after that the photo is yours, with any design and at any size. Sixteen photos in the app cost nothing at all.
Does this work for Printify and Printful listings?
Yes. The library is plain t-shirts and hoodies, not tied to a provider, so it suits any Etsy shop that prints through Printify, Printful or a local printer. Match the shirt colour to the one your provider sells, and use your provider's own size chart for the blank; the free Gildan size chart covers the most common ones.
How does the 3-day free trial work?
Every plan starts with 3 days free. Starting it charges $1 to check the card is real, and that $1 is not refunded. The plan price itself is only billed when the trial ends, and cancelling before then from Manage Plan means it is never charged.
