Every figure below comes from the platform's own help or template pages, checked in September 2026. They change more often than guides get updated, so if an upload is rejected, the platform's current page wins.

Numbers that get repeated wrongly

1. 4500 × 5400 is not every Merch product. It covers shirts, sweatshirts and the back of a hoodie. The hoodie front is 4500 × 4050, and the non-apparel products each have their own size.
2. Not every Merch product wants transparency. Phone cases, tote bags, throw pillows and PopSockets are full bleed. Amazon says anything left blank or transparent prints white.
3. Printful's 12 × 16 inch area is the old one. Printful replaced it with 15 × 18 inches on the products that support it, and asks for at least 150 DPI for DTG. Printful publishes the exact pixels per product inside each product's file guidelines, so check there, or turn inches into pixels with the print size calculator.
4. TeePublic does not ask for 300 DPI. Its guidance works at 150 DPI, with 5000 × 5500 pixels to enable every product.
5. 7632 × 6480 is not Redbubble's largest size. It is the tapestry and blanket size. Large posters go to 8310 × 11790. Redbubble's own “covers all products” figure contradicts its own table, which is why this tool does not offer one.

Why enlarging a design does not work

A resizer can make any image 4500 × 5400. It cannot make it sharp. Enlarging stretches the pixels you already have, so a 1000-pixel drawing blown up to Merch size prints at a fraction of the detail the numbers suggest. Amazon's Merch best practices say not to scale artwork up unless it is a vector, Printful says the same, and Redbubble and TeePublic both warn that low-resolution files print below what buyers expect. The tool shows the enlargement factor for exactly this reason: at 1.5 times or more, redraw or find a bigger source.

A correct file is the smaller decision

Every upload on this page can be technically perfect and still sit unsold, because the size of the file has nothing to do with whether anyone is looking for the design. That part is decided earlier, by the niche.
